History of the Reserve
Reserva Dunas Verdes stretches across more than two kilometers of unspoiled coastline between Praia da Rocha and Tofo.
With its primary dunes, native bush, and seasonal wetland zones, the reserve is one of the last truly wild coastal ecosystems in southern Mozambique.
Originally developed as a private retreat, the reserve has grown into a broader mission : to preserve this unique environment, protect endangered habitats, and model regenerative land stewardship.

The Dunas Verdes Reserve is a vital ecological zone composed of dunes, tropical forest, mangroves, and wetlands.
It is home to a rich variety of wildlife including small antelope, bush pigs, monkeys, reptiles, and bird species — many of which are endangered or rarely seen elsewhere.
