Dunas Verdes exists to protect a rare stretch of coastline — the dunes that hold it in place, the reef that feeds it, the bush that shelters it.
Conservation here is practical and daily: watching over the wildlife, working with the surrounding communities and keeping access deliberately limited so the landscape stays whole.

How it began
A promisemade twice.
Our founder grew up in eastern Congo, beside the volcanoes and forests of Virunga — the oldest national park in Africa. As a child he watched mountain gorillas move through the trees, and later watched forest disappear and animals vanish.
That loss followed him until he found this stretch of Mozambican coast, where the dunes meet the ocean and wildlife still has a chance. Reserva Dunas Verdes was born there — a dream rooted in memory and a promise to the future.

Beyond the beach

Most visitors to this coast come for the ocean — diving, surfing, the reef. Almost nobody turns around to look inland: the bush, the trees, the birds, the quiet life held between the dunes.
Having both in one place is what makes this landscape rare. Protecting one without the other would protect nothing at all.
